More Winchester!

These are from back in April in Village Creek State Park!

I did this pen and ink drawing for MSAGO's dog wash fundraiser and auction.
I used this photo as a reference.
He saw something interesting out the window!

My, how fast they grow up...

Gardening. Birthdays. Graduations. Big changes and little changes and Spring to Summer.

Aren't these sweet? I bought some things on Etsy with birthday money. The sugar doesn't have the lid, but I don't mind, I won't use them as a creamer/sugar set anyway. I like them with my new fuchsia napkins holder.

Doesn't this just remind you of a robin's nest? Sticks and mud and blue eggs.

Or a pool, an aqua pool. Anyway, I'm very much in love with the colors.

Cute cute cute creamer.

New pillow on my kitchen corner chair- on sale from Target.

This lampshade was on sale too. The one I made a few months ago was starting to scare me a bit...
Should I put a little grey ribbon on the edge? Or should I stencil something in silver on the outside? I don't know.

Little round ceramic lamp for my desk. It was too short without the ceramic box (painted at one of those paint-your-own-pottery stores).

Hello beautiful petunias!
Geraniums, looking gorgeous, if I may say so myself.

A pair of swallows built a nest under the carport.

I think it is too cute how they roost like this at night. I guess there aren't eggs that need sitting on yet.

Watching the world. Sweet baby.

April Flowers and a Puppy

I bought plants last night and I planted them this afternoon:

Happy yellow Violas
and purple petunias in a blue pot that I just love!

I have three big pots like this one. I bought a hanging basket of pink geraniums and divided it up for them. (clockwise from top: yellow snapdragon, dusty miller, yellow violas- center: geranium)

Two weeks ago my parents brought home a new puppy. Megan named her Riley. These pictures were taken last weekend.
So much fun!

Happy Birthday Winchester!

Today Winchester the Greyhound turned 5! My little boy is five years old! He got tunafish on top of his kibble, and I sang happy birthday (very cheesy, I know, especially since he was probably thinking "geez mom, just give me my food already!").

Doesn't he seem excited about it! :P

"Winchester, do you want a cookie?" cookie = dog biscuit ;)
Did someone say cookie?
He's such a sweet boy.

Yup, he's the cyborg alright.

I've started playing a game in my head. You should join me. ;)

It all started with a dream.

The dream was caused by a student's artwork and a conversation in the teacher's lounge.

The cyborg works at my school.

I'm fairly disgusted with reality TV like Big Brother, The Bachelor, Survivor, etc. Some teachers were discussing the latest season of The Bachelor (I know, not the philosophical inquiries into pedagogy I expect there either, lol) and somehow that got stuck into my head. That same week a student ran a cool idea by my for his next artwork- he was thinking about a self-portrait-as-cyborg (he ended up doing a half self-portrait, half skull but that is beside the point) and that got stuck in my head too.

Cue dream:
I dreamed that I was part of a reality TV show. A group of people were chosen to live together in a house with cameras- you know the set-up. The premise of the show was that one of us was different, but this wasn't immediately obvious. One of us was a cyborg.

The point of the show was a little like the game of Clue: find out who it is, but don't let on that you know until you are really ready to reveal it.

I've started playing this game in real life. Now, I know that there aren't cyborgs lurking among us (or are there?) but there are creepers- you know, those people who give you the heebie jeebies (speaking of, I LOVE this magnet- actually all of this seller's work) but you can't quite place the reason why...

...in my head I think "yeeeah, you would soooo be the cyborg"!

:) It is a fun game. Play. Report back.
